Disneyland Wait Times Free iPhone app Review

Description:

There is a free and a paid version of the Disneyland Wait Times Free iPhone app.  Both of them display the times but the paid app is a little bit quicker to reload and give you wait times.  Either way this is a great companion for Disneyland while on vacation.

Features:

• This is a fun little reference app that lets you know all of the different wait times at all of the rides at Disneyland and California Adventure.  This is a great reference to have when you are trying to decide which ride to go to next so that you do not have to wait in line for forever
• You will have a display of all of the different times of the rides at each of the different parks.  Find out exactly how long you would have to wait at all of the rides
• You will be able to look through the recent times section to see which rides have had recent times submitted.  This allows you to get the most up to date information on rides
• If you are already in the park then you can actually submit a wait time for the rides right onto the app for other users to see
• Using the built in GPS you can also see which rides are closest to you.  That way you can plan out your routes a little bit better and make sure you hit all of the rides that you want to before the day is over
• If the ride is closed then you will see a little CL next to the ride, or you will see dashes on the line if the ride’s wait time is unavailable.  Other than that you will see all of the wait times for the rides displayed in minutes form so that you can judge accordingly
• Never wait in long lines again while you are at Disneyland!  Definitely helps you to get your full money’s worth while you are there on vacation with your friends or family

Conclusion:

Disneyland has always been a fun place to go, whether you are a kid or an adult.  The only bummer with the park was how long you had to wait in rides.  Didn’t you always hate it when you would wait two hours in line for a ride, go on it, then go over somewhere else to a different ride and come back past the first ride only to find that no one was in line?  If only you had known and hit up a different ride in the meantime you wouldn’t have wasted so much of your precious time and money.  Bring this app and you will never have those regrets again.

iBartender iPhone app Review

Description:

The iBartender iPhone app is a great resource to have at all time to know what kinds of drinks are available at a bar setting.  You can browse or search for all kinds of drinks and then email them to friends or save them to your favorites for future reference.

Features:

• This is the ultimate guide on drinks you could get from the bar.  Read up on this app and next time you go to the bar you can impress all your friends with your extensive knowledge
• You will find recipes and ingredients of all of the most popular mixed drinks that are available at any bar.  You will also find an all inclusive guide on cocktail drinks too
• As you are going through this reference app you will likely happen upon certain drinks that look especially delicious or interesting.  When you find these drinks you have the ability to email these recipes to your friends or buddies who might be interested in them
• There is a good search function available that is very easy to use.  You can search for drinks either by their names or by the ingredients that are used to make them
• If you want the app to bring up a random drink mix then all you have to do is just shake your phone and a random drink will be brought up.  This is a great way to introduce yourself to new drinks
• The interface is unique and simple.  You will find that it is easy to navigate through and it is smooth in all of its transitions
• The app also offers free upgrades in the future for when more drinks and features are added.  This is nice to know since new drinks are being created all the time
• There is a favorites section where you can save all of your favorite recipes and concoctions.  This way when you go to the bar you can remember which drinks that you wanted to try

Conclusion:

If you love specialized drinks then you will love this app.  Not only will it help introduce you to new drinks that you have never heard of before, it can also help you to become a regular bartender yourself.  Learn all the ingredients and recipes of the drinks so that you can make them yourself.

Yahoo! Search iPhone app Review

Description:

The Yahoo! Search iPhone app is one of those reference apps that contains everything you need all in one location.  You will enjoy searching for any and everything on this little app.

Features:

• This app contains several local maps for you to reference to that will be tied to your current location and will help you to make any phone calls that you want or get directions to anyplace you are looking for
• There is a cool little feature called the Search Assist where you can get all kinds of local suggestions while you are typing you original destination.  This way you can get a variety of ideas of things to do when you are  bored
• There is of course the “Best of Yahoo” section that allows you to get information about finance, movies, sports, news, and everything else you can imagine.  This section was designed specifically for the iPhone
• There is a voice search function as well if you get sick of typing, or if you are trying to get information while driving.  All you have to do is just talk into the phone and it will quickly direct you to information that is related to your search
• You can get local business photos so that you can see their ratings, pictures, phone numbers, directions, and a lot more. This is done in collaboration with CitySearch, Local, Yelp, and Yahoo
• The information that is included with the app is all very personalized and you can get results that continually get better based on what you have searched before
• You can get queries extremely fast and get entire summaries of the site you are looking for with only a quick glance of the snapshot through the Quick Load function
• There is a little section called “My Log” where you can get access to a variety of different searches that include recent queries and also local businesses
• Whenever you want to clear your searches and start again, all you have to do is shake your iPhone and it will bring up the option to search a different query

Conclusion:

This app is incredibly easy to use and the whole shake to erase the query thing is kind of cool.  The voice search feature is also really nice so that you don’t always have to type all of your searches in.

Bible HD iPhone app Review

Description:

We all need a little more faith in our lives and now that added measure of faith can be had with the Bible HD iPhone app.  This little app is your complete reference on God’s holy word.  You can read all of your favorite stories in the Old and New Testament including Moses and the Burning Bush, Noah’s Ark,  Joseph of Egypt, John the Baptist, Paul, and of course the Savior Jesus Christ.  This is a great way to stay close to the Lord and enjoy a few verses whenever you have a spare minute.

Features:

• This little app puts the entirety of the holy word right into the palm of your hand so that you can refer to it throughout your day and get uplifting messages and spiritual inspiration
• This app comes with over 41 different translations and it is also factored into 22 different languages.  This way you can reach out to all of those you love of different linguistic backgrounds
• Of those 41 different translations you will find these versions included:  NIV, ESV, KJV, GW, NLT, AMP, NASB, CEV, WEB, NCV, HCSB, TNIV, NKJV, among many others out there
• The search options on this app are also very easy to use and you can search for your favorite verses of scripture by either reference or a keyword.  The results are always brought up very quickly and you can navigate them easily
• There is also a bookmarking section so that you can save your favorite verses of scripture and go back to them regularly to be uplifted and inspired whenever you are feeling down
• You can also access this app while you are offline as well.  This is great so that you can still read the scriptures even when you don’t have an internet connection through 3G or through Wifi
• Contains all of the books of the Bible and also all of your favorite passages about the holy prophets

Conclusion:

How can you say anything bad about an app that has to do with the Bible?  This is a great app for allowing you to search the scriptures and come closer to God. The bookmarking section is great because different verses will hit you at different times in your life so it is good to have them on tab in case you want to go back and remember that certain spiritual experience that you had.  The search functions are easy to use and you will find that because it is so easy to access that you will probably read it a lot more.

Chordmaster iPhone app Review

Description:

Have you ever wanted to learn how to play the guitar without having to go and buy expensive lessons from somebody else?  Well with the Chordmaste iPhone app you can do just that.  This little reference app was developed by the popular Planet Waves and is a sub-section of D’Addario.  This is the ultimate app for anyone that wants to learn how to play the guitar. This app has over seven thousand different chords that you can choose from and you can see all of their different variations and where they go on the fret board.  You can see the virtual fretboard and get a good idea of how to play each song.  Not only that you can strum each chord to hear what it actually sounds like.  This is a good way to pick your different chord progressions so that you can create your own songs.

Features:

• This little reference app allows you to see and access over 7000 different guitar chords.  All seven thousand of these chords can be found in the library and you can learn every single one of them if you like
• On each of the chords you will be able to see all of the notes that are involved as well as where each finger is supposed to go in order to create that same sound on you own guitar
• The visuals are easy to navigate through and you will notice that all of the different chords are located on a virtual fretboard
• Aside from seeing all of the notes and the places where all of your fingers are supposed to go, you can also see all of the chords on different fretboard positions.  This offers a complete view on all of the chords and their variations
• Once you have found a chord that you like and you want to hear what it sounds like, all you have to do is to strum the strings with your fingers and you will be able to play the chord on the phone and hear what it sounds like
• Whether you are right or left handed  you can get diagrams that display both kinds of chords.  This makes it a great app for anybody that wants to learn how to play the guitar

Conclusion:

The Chordmaster app is a great reference for anybody that is serious about learning how to play the guitar.  All you need to do is to take some time to listen to the chords and learn where your fingers go and you can be a guitar master in no time.
